BBAN is an abbreviation for Basic Bank Account Number. It corresponds to a country-specific bank account number. BBAN is the final part of an IBAN when used for international money transfers. Each country has its own specific BBAN format and length depending on its own standards. Currently, there is no common EU or other standard unifying BBAN. This is why IBAN was introduced to help standardize international bank transfers.
